Greatest Gift of All -- Christ Himself!
This year has been one of the best and most challenging I've ever faced! I've learned how to trust God more, love God more, and believe that He gives His best for my life no matter what!
It has been a precious year! Among the great blessings is spending Christmas time with my family and the love of my life, Kevin! I cannot thank my family enough for the love they show to me, and I cannot express to each of you the joy and love that Kevin brings into my heart. God has done a wonderful work, and I feel so undeserving to have such a remarkable man as Kevin! Wow; I'm honored to be called his!
I've missed seeing family and friends from Texas as well as my new family and friends from California. You have all played an enormous part in my life. Thank you! I look forward to seeing many of you in February!! Hooray!! :)
As I've counted my blessings, I am reminded that the greatest of all gifts is our blessed Savior, Jesus Christ! Yes, praise God for His gift He so freely bestows upon our lives. They're wonderful, they bring joy and happiness, and a feeling of love and comfort, but remember that He is the all satisfying gift. Treasure Him above all things!
“He himself is what we need. If we only trust Christ to give us gifts and not himself as the all-satisfying gift, then we do not trust him in a way that honors him as our treasure. We simply honor the gifts. They are what we really want, not him. So biblical faith in Jesus must mean that we trust Him to give us what we need most—namely, Himself. That means that faith itself must include at its essence a treasuring of Christ above all things!” (John Piper, Don’t Waste Your Life, pg. 70)
To share a part of our Christmas with you, here are a few pictures to enjoy!
Many Blessing and a Happy New Year!
Thank you Kevin for your love!! You're the answer to all my prayers and so much more!
I was determined to collect a sprig of mistletoe this Christmas season!! (For some reason, Tennessee had a shortage of mistletoe this year; therefore, it was a big ordeal to find some... but I did!!! <satisfied grin>) Yeah, I gave Kevin a kiss under the mistletoe! Okay, a chocolate one. I'm waiting to give him an authentic one on our wedding day (63 more days)!!
